GalleyMaster MM (also known as MergeMaster) lets you perform mail merge and other variable data printing functions with Adobe PageMaker. (InDesign Version Coming Soon!)

Here's how it works.You put the field name from a database between delimiters in your InDesign document <> like that, and the data will be merged into your  PageMaker document. You can also merge graphics into your PageMaker document with GalleyMaster MM. If your database field contains the file name of a graphic, you put in a different kind of delimiter, [[EpsField]] like that, and the graphic is imported into the document. There are also other special delimiters that allow you to import text files, and format PostNet barcodes. 

GalleyMaster MM also goes beyond simple mail merge operations with our exclusive PivotMerge feature. In a normal merge operation you would merge one database record per page. This is fine for simple merge project, but with GalleyMaster MM's PivotMerge feature you can merge more than one record per page. This would allow you to make more complex documents like school yearbooks and product catalogs. 

The most obvious application for GalleyMaster MM is a simple mail merge for mass mailings. You could personalize correspondence to thousands of people while still having all of the precision text and graphical capabilities that PageMaker is so good at. To do this type of project, you would first export from your database a tab or comma delimited list of all the variable information you wanted in the document. Then you create a mail merge set within GalleyMaster MM, name the fields, and create a PageMaker template that has all of the variable text field names between the delimiters. Then you push the button, and it creates the documents. GalleyMaster allows you to print each document immediately, or you can output the multiplied document into one more InDesign files for printing later.  

MergeMaster is also capable of very complex data and image merging. You can easily create school yearbooks and catalogs with GalleyMaster MM using the PivotMerge feature. 

Another use would be for creating business cards for everyone in your whole company with one template. You would set up the template so you have all of the variable data like <<Name>>, <<Title>>, <<Email>>, <<Cellular>>, etc. between the delimiters, then run MergeMaster on that document and you would have 8-up camera ready business card layouts for your entire company in minutes, instead of hours or days. You could also create ID cards with photo's and all of the textual information perfectly intact from a database following the procedure outlined above. You can use the tool you already know to do the layout, and be confident that your service bureau will be able to output your file perfectly. We're sure there are many other uses for MergeMaster, those uses limited only by your imagination and creativity.

GalleyMaster MM (MergeMaster™) Demo 

You can download a demo version of MergeMaster. The demo version works exactly as the full version except that it will not merge any vowels. All vowels are replaced with asterisks. The full documentation is included in the demo, as well as all the data files, PageMaker templates and step by step instructions to make the all the examples that are on the web site.
